$45•52 per hour, depending on licensure and experience Job Summary AlliedUP is seeking an Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Therapist to provide brief, evidence-based behavioral health services within a collaborative primary care setting. This role is embedded within an interdisciplinary healthcare team and supports patients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, chronic illness-related stress, and other behavioral health concerns. Our client is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Oakland, California dedicated to providing comprehensive, culturally responsive healthcare to underserved communities. The IBH Therapist will work closely with medical providers, care coordinators, and support staff to improve patient outcomes through integrated, whole-person care. This position primarily serves individuals re-entering the community following incarceration. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with justice-involved populations and can build rapport with individuals facing complex behavioral health, substance use, housing, and re-entry challenges. Key Responsibilities Behavioral Health Assessment & Treatment Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide brief, evidence-based interventions including CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing Develop collaborative treatment plans and coordinate ongoing patient care Support patients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, and psychosocial stressors Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding mental health conditions and coping strategies Promote patient engagement, wellness, and stigma reduction through culturally responsive care Integrated Care & Collaboration Provide same-day behavioral health consultations and warm hand-offs from primary care providers Collaborate with medical providers on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and substance use interventions when appropriate Participate in daily and weekly interdisciplinary care team huddles Coordinate with nurses, care coordinators, case managers, and community health workers to address social determinants of health Connect patients to behavioral health and community resources Justice-Involved Population Support Provide behavioral health services to individuals navigating community re-entry following incarceration Support patients experiencing housing instability, substance use challenges, and barriers to successful re-entry Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure continuity of care and access to community resources Documentation & Compliance Document services accurately and timely within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Maintain compliance with clinical documentation standards and organizational policies Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or related field Active California ASW, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist license in good standing Experience providing behavioral health services in community health, outpatient, or integrated care settings Experience working with diverse populations, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, underserved communities, and individuals with complex psychosocial needs Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and documentation skills Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (Epic preferred) Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Commitment to health equity, social justice, and culturally responsive care Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or primary care setting Experience working in correctional facilities, re-entry programs, Residential Reentry Centers (RRCs), transitional housing programs, forensic behavioral health settings, or with justice-involved populations strongly preferred Experience with trauma-informed care practices Familiarity with integrated behavioral health and collaborative care models Experience providing brief therapeutic interventions and motivational interviewing Why AlliedUP Worker-owned cooperative — your voice matters Competitive benefits Talent Incubator Program (mentorship, training, and career growth opportunities) Collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment Opportunity to serve diverse and underserved communities Apply Today Join a team advancing equitable, community-centered healthcare while supporting individuals on their path to recovery, stability, and successful community re-entry.
