The Clinician/Mental Health Therapist provides direct school-based therapeutic services within a Medi-Cal program, including assessment, diagnosis, clinical treatment, case management, crisis intervention and care coordination. Services are delivered on school campuses and in the surrounding community to Western Youth Services clients.
Responsibilities:
Provide clinical services to students on school campuses and in community settings as clinically appropriate. Conduct intake assessments, risk evaluations, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions aligned with Medi-Cal guidelines. Meet all regulatory and agency requirements for documenting clinical services delivered within clinical care and resource coordination, ensuring compliance with school district policies. Maintain awareness of contract and program requirements; proactively prioritize time to meet or exceed program expectations. Effectively present information orally and in writing in one-on-one, small group and large group settings; respond appropriately to questions from students, parents, staff, and community partners. Teamwork is required specifically within a multidisciplinary team of school, mental health, and social service staff to ensure services are delivered in an effective, culturally sensitive, and collaborative manner. Ensure timely submission of documentation per agency expectations; and assessment/management of clinical risk. Travel required among schools in the district and within the community, as needed. This is a Direct Services Hours (DSH) producing position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling, with current BBS registration (ACSW, AMFT, or APCC). Progress toward licensure or interest in obtaining licensure is strongly preferred. At least two years directly related experience providing clinical services to adolescents, children, and their families. Strong clinical writing skills with the ability to interpret assessments, regulations, and clinical data. Represent WYS with professionalism while working independently in field-based settings. Commitment to WYS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) initiatives. Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, and clinical database skills. Knowledge of Medi-Cal/Cal-AIM documentation and familiarity with EXYM strongly preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Bilingual fluency in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
Salary:
$70,824.00 to $74,365.00 (The actual salary may vary based on experience, equity, market, and agency considerations).
