Job Description
JOB SUMMARY ABA
direct treating therapist is an entry level position into the field of ABA. Direct therapist follow treatment plans designed by BCBA, work with children and young adults with any of the following diagnoses: Autism, ADD, ADHD, ODD, Seizure Disorder, Down's Syndrome, and others. ABA Direct Therapist instruct/teach the clients in a variety of settings including home, community, and school; to implement intensive behavior intervention programs for identified clients; assist client with hygiene needs; teach play skills; support executive functioning training; Naturalistic teaching methods; Applied Behavior Analysis will be trained on the job for methodologies found to benefit children including, but not limited to, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Discrete Trial Training (DTT), and Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI). ABA direct therapists may be required to drive a personal vehicle to travel to client's homes and other locations including the clinic, community, and schools and provide one-to-one intensive behavioral intervention services. Other related duties may be assigned.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Be a team player Make a difference in a child's life (and abilities for future success) Follow behavioral treatment plan set by BCBA Teach play skills for learning Follow directions and plan of care from the BCBA, Provide one-on-one and group instruction Intervention in the clinic, community, or home setting; Adhere to ABA principles to ensure continuity of care; Provide activities for improvement of skills in motor planning, cognitive abilities, life skills, body awareness, spatial organization, balance, locomotion, strength and agility; Assist clients with personal hygiene and self-grooming skills. Prepare session learning materials as directed by the BCBA; Document clients progress in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Collect digital data Set up work areas and prepare materials for instructional use; Attend on-the-clock workshops, and in-service trainings Timeliness with attendance and documentation Clean and maintain all session equipment and suppliesOther Duties:

Work is performed in an indoor clinic or home environment with moderate noise, light and temperature levels. Work may be stressful on occasion. There are a number of routine tasks require the employee be self-directed and work independently.PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF IN-PERSON SESSION WORK
Exert 50 to 75 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move equipment or objects. Work involves sitting, running, walking, jumping, crawling, playing or standing for brief to longer periods of time. Setting up obstacle course to include, lifting equipment such as blocks and mats, bending and/or twisting at the waist and/or kneeling to move equipment Participating in obstacle courses with clients Fully extending arms above head to hang suspended equipment weighing up to 30 pounds Use of trained CPI de-escalation process and related physical holds/restraints Physical response blocking of clients as necessary Running or Jumping on trampoline Climbing onto and or jumping off any elevated surface Pushing clients on swings We learn to play, and play to learn!MENTAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

High school diploma or equivalent education, such as a GED. CPR/First Aide Certification Must hold a an RBT or equivalent certification OR obtain the RBT certificationWITHIN 60 DAYS
of hire (on the job training is provided that ensures passing this certification)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling, grammar, and basic arithmetical concepts. Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity with an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward all clients/families Ability to understand/communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults. Required - Fluency in English (read, write and speak)Job Type:
