Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) to join our dynamic mental health team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. As an AMFT, you will play a vital role in supporting clients through various mental health challenges, utilizing evidence-based practices and fostering a nurturing environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment planning. Provide individual, group, family, and couples counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Deliver specialized services including trauma-focused care for PTSD, grief counseling, addiction counseling, chronic pain management, and gender issues counseling. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies. Engage in case management activities such as patient care coordination, medical documentation, HIPAA-compliant record keeping, and medical terminology documentation. Facilitate behavioral therapy sessions for clients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), incorporating behavior management techniques. Utilize telehealth platforms to conduct remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to develop individualized treatment plans. Collect data through research initiatives and clinical research projects to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to evidence-based practices. Maintain accurate medical records and document patient assessments thoroughly in accordance with CPT coding standards. Support patients dealing with mental health issues such as PTSD, Geriatrics concerns, or working within inpatient or outpatient settings. Participate in ongoing training related to ICD coding updates (ICD-9/ICD-10), social work practices, psychopharmacology considerations, and special education needs when applicable. Qualifications Current enrollment in an approved AMFT internship program with valid licensing credentials or eligibility for licensure as an Marriage and Family Therapist. Experience or training in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, or applied behavior analysis (ABA). Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation procedures. Proven ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Strong skills in crisis intervention and crisis management to handle urgent mental health situations confidently. Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote service delivery is preferred. Experience working within hospital settings or outpatient clinics is advantageous. Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care.
