Days, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week), 5 days per week Travel assignment in a hospital-based setting focused on behavioral health Start date: 07/06/2026•Assignment type: Travel•temporary Responsibilities Plan, direct, and coordinate recreation-based treatment programs for individuals with disabilities, injuries, or mental illnesses. Deliver recreational therapy services using a variety of techniques, including arts and crafts, animals, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and community outings. Assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust interventions to achieve therapeutic goals. Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate outcomes to the care team in a timely manner. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (nursing, psychology, social work, and other therapists) to integrate recreation therapy into overall treatment plans. Ensure patient safety during activities, promote engagement, and adhere to professional ethical standards and facility policies. Requirements Experience in recreational therapy or a related field is preferred. Ability to work in a hospital-based setting with behavioral health patients, on a day shift. Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment and a 40-hour work week. Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills to coordinate with the care team and patients. Ability to implement and adapt evidence-based recreational therapy activities to diverse patient populations and settings.
