Job Description

Job Purpose:
The MS Therapist (Unlicensed) at
LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER
is responsible for providing therapeutic services to individuals, groups, and families under supervision. The role focuses on supporting clients with mental health challenges, promoting their well-being, and assisting them in achieving their personal goals through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to the needs of clients. Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress notes in accordance with organizational and legal requirements. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment for clients. Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance professional development and ensure compliance with best practices. Support clients in crisis situations by implementing appropriate interventions and referrals. Engage in community outreach and education to promote mental health awareness and resources. Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.
Required Education:
Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Required Experience:
Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, preferably in a therapeutic setting. Internship or practicum experience in a clinical environment during graduate studies. Familiarity with therapeutic techniques and approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or other evidence-based practices.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for clients with various mental health disorders. Proficient in maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in the field of mental health therapy. Cultural competence and sensitivity to work with diverse populations.
