Job Description
Make a Difference in Behavioral Health! Are you a Licensed Counselor or Registered Counseling Intern who is passionate about making a difference and interested in serving individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents and adults? Would you like to work for an organization that takes a whole-person approach to wellness and actively improves the wellbeing of the community it serves? Flagler Cares is seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Therapist to provide therapeutic services to children, youth, individuals, and families, with a strong emphasis on working with younger children and supporting family systems. The ideal candidate will have experience providing counseling to children in clinical or community-based settings and will be comfortable using developmentally appropriate, evidence-based therapeutic approaches. This position plays an important role in helping children and families build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and access the resources needed for long-term stability.
Most Essential Work:
- Individual Counseling
- Family Counseling
- Counseling for Children and Youth
- Care Coordination What will you be doing?
- Provide individual and family counseling, with a focus on supporting younger children and their caregivers.
- Conduct intake sessions including biopsychosocial and behavioral health assessments.
- Develop collaborative Care Plans with clients and families.
- Use developmentally appropriate therapeutic techniques to support emotional regulation, coping skills, and family functioning.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, schools, and community partners to support children's behavioral health and connect families to appropriate services.
- Coordinate care with community partners to address behavioral health and social care needs.
What we are looking for:
- Master's degree in counseling, Social Work or a related field
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Florida Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern
- Knowledge of and experience using evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both children and families. Now for the exciting part…
- Part-time and full-time positions with hourly range of $25-30/hour.
