Behavioral Health Therapist

Flagler Cares is seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Therapist to provide therapeutic services to children, youth, individuals, and families, with a strong emphasis on working with younger children and supporting family systems. The ideal candidate will have experience providing counseling to children in clinical or community-based settings and will be comfortable using developmentally appropriate, evidence-based therapeutic approaches. This position plays an important role in helping children and families build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and access the resources needed for long-term stability.

Most Essential Work:

• Individual Counseling
• Family Counseling
• Counseling for Children and Youth
• Care Coordination What will you be doing?
• Provide individual and family counseling, with a focus on supporting younger children and their caregivers.
• Conduct intake sessions including biopsychosocial and behavioral health assessments.
• Develop collaborative Care Plans with clients and families.
• Use developmentally appropriate therapeutic techniques to support emotional regulation, coping skills, and family functioning.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, schools, and community partners to support children's behavioral health and connect families to appropriate services.
• Coordinate care with community partners to address behavioral health and social care needs.

What we are looking for:

• Master's degree in counseling, Social Work or a related field
• Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Florida Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern
• Knowledge of and experience using evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both children and families. Now for the exciting part…
