Job Description

Flawsome Counseling LLC is a growing private practice in Ankeny, Iowa, dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality mental health care to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. We are seeking a licensed mental health therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. This position offers the freedom and flexibility to build a caseload that aligns with your professional interests, expertise, and personal schedule. Position Overview As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with Flawsome Counseling, you will provide therapeutic services to a diverse client population while enjoying the autonomy to manage your own schedule and caseload. Therapists have the opportunity to conduct clinical assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based therapy services in a supportive private practice setting. This role is ideal for clinicians seeking independence, flexibility, and a collaborative practice environment without productivity quotas or mandated scheduling requirements. Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy services utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and establish appropriate diagnoses. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support client goals. Maintain accurate, timely, and ethical clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans. Communicate professionally with clients, referral sources, and other healthcare providers as clinically appropriate. Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice. Engage in ongoing professional development and consultation opportunities. Compensation & Schedule This position is structured as a 1099 Independent Contractor role. Contractors have the flexibility to:
Create a schedule that fits their lifestyle and availability. Determine the types of clients they wish to serve. Build and manage their own caseload. Choose to provide in-person, telehealth, or hybrid services. Compensation is based on a competitive percentage of collected billable services, with opportunities for increased earnings as your caseload grows. Benefits Flexible schedule with complete autonomy over your work hours. No minimum billable hour requirements. No mandated evenings or weekends (available if desired). Ability to provide both in-person and telehealth services. Control over referral acceptance and caseload size. Office space in a newly renovated professional suite. Administrative support for referrals, billing, credentialing and daily operations Collaborative and supportive team environment. Strong emphasis on work-life balance and sustainable practice growth. Qualifications Active Iowa license as an LISW, LMHC, or LMFT in good standing. Experience providing therapy services to individuals, couples, and/or families. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Knowledge of ethical standards and clinical documentation requirements. Commitment to providing high-quality, client-centered care.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
