Essential Job Functions:
Clinical Responsibilities Assess client needs, abilities, and behavior through interviews and direct observation. Diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders including anxiety, depression, developmental challenges, social/interpersonal issues, and disruptive behaviors. Coordinate and deliver client care in a cost-effective manner while following all clinical protocols. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, reviews, and discharge summaries. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and case consultations. Provide consultation to external professionals involved in client care. Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups, workshops, and specialized therapy services as needed. Maintain CE requirements and licensure and follow all ethical and professional standards. Comply with all CHCS agency policies and procedures.For non-independently licensed providers:
attend and document required clinical supervision.Play Therapy Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments using play-based observation to understand presenting issues and inform treatment planning. Utilize evidence-based play therapy techniques to help children express emotions, process experiences, and resolve conflicts in developmentally appropriate ways. Observe, assess, and interpret children's play themes and symbolic expression to identify emotional, behavioral, or developmental concerns that may not be communicated verbally. Provide a safe, supportive, child-centered play environment that promotes emotional expression without judgment or pressure. Gently guide the therapeutic play process while allowing the child to lead sessions in accordance with established play therapy models. Monitor progress over time and adjust play-based treatment interventions to meet evolving client needs. Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and involved professionals to provide updates, gather collateral information, and ensure holistic support across settings. Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to support the child's therapeutic goals in home, school, and community environments. Advocate for the child's emotional and psychological needs in relevant care settings, ensuring integrated support and continuity. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current play therapy research, interventions, ethical standards, and evidence-based practices through ongoing professional development. Adhere to all ethical guidelines and standards established by the Association for Play Therapy and relevant licensing boards.Schedule :
Monday to Friday with some flexibility. Essential Qualifications 1. Must have LMFT, LCPC, LCSW, LPC or LMSW; RPT or 2 years of experience using play therapy techniques 2.
