Compensation will be discussed with the hiring manager and is based on licensure, certifications, qualifications, and relevant experience. Summary of Responsibilities The Lead Mental Health Therapist provides both clinical leadership and direct therapeutic services within Headwaters Behavioral Health's Children's Residential Treatment Facility. Working with adolescents ages 12-17, this role conducts assessments, develops and oversees treatment plans, provides individual, group, and family therapy, and supports psychiatric stabilization through trauma-informed, evidence-based care. As a clinical leader, the Lead Therapist supervises and mentors therapists, reviews documentation for quality and compliance, provides consultation on treatment and crisis management, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. This position also supports staff development, performance improvement initiatives, and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for helping youth and families achieve lasting growth and healing. Qualifications Master's or higher degree in a behavioral science field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy), required. Active Idaho licensure as LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or similar, required. Three (3+) years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families, preferred. Two (2+) years of supervision in a clinical setting, preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and residential treatment standards.
Preferred:
EMDR or BLS training, Polyvagal Theory or HeartMath familiarity, and prior residential or group therapy experience. Licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order to get to and from work in various weather conditions to ensure reliability. Pay:
$50.00 - $55.00 per hour
