Job Description
Our Nampa location is currently looking for a dedicated individual to fulfill our Intervention Specialist position. Degree preferred. If you are in the last year of your schooling, let us know, you may still qualify. Intervention is a highly individualized service, provided in a one-on-one setting. The goal of this service is to help decrease challenging behaviors, while increasing the child's communication skills, socialization skills, ability to engage in appropriate play, and independence. The Intervention Specialist will implement therapy goals in daily therapeutic sessions with children who have a developmental disability and/or who exhibit challenging behaviors. Intervention Specialist will also advise and assist parents/guardians with therapeutic techniques and strategies. Our Intervention Specialist work with children between the ages of 3-17 to provide services in the child's home, school, center, and within the community. A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a Human Service related field. A non-related degree, with at least 25 upper division courses in a human service field, will be considered. Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, Learning, AND Child Development is required. If you have not had this coursework, but otherwise meet the degree qualifications, you will be required to complete an online Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course, before applying for your HI Certificate. A minimum of one year and 1040 hours supervised experience, working specifically with children with developmental disabilities: intellectual/learning disabilities, Autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, epilepsy or other closely-related conditions. Experience can be any form of consistent work with children with disabilities, i.e., in schools, after school programs, child care programs, adaptive recreation programs, therapy, private pay, etc. CBRS experience can count if you have worked with children with co-occurring mental illness and developmental disabilities. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a Department of Health and Welfare background check. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance to transport clients to and from therapy session.What We Offer:
