BASIC FUNCTION
Foster meaningful relationships with students to enhance their engagement and success in the school environment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all assigned students Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to identify and address emotional, educational, personal, and mental health needs Provide direct mental health supports and interventions to identified students Conduct home visits and work with stakeholders to provide wraparound support Consult with school staff and caregivers regarding individual student needs and progress Promote high expectations for students while consistently enforcing school-wide rules and routines Attend student support meetings and court sessions as needed Maintain accurate records and confidentiality in all matters Monitor and report student progress monthly to supervisors Establish partnerships with community agencies to expand student resources. Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, appropriate appearance, and consistent, reliable attendance Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Understanding ethical standards (ASCA, NASW, ACA, etc.) and confidentiality practices Strong knowledge of student development, motivational strategies, and diverse populations Skilled in time management, organization, and problem-solving Ability to build trust, work independently and collaboratively, and maintain professionalism Willingness to travel between school sites as required Requires speech, vision, and hearing capabilities Work involves both indoor and occasional outdoor activity Stand & move for extended periods; lift, push, pull, carry, etc. up to 25 lbs. repetitively; kneel, crouch, sit, etc. Use technology, including computers, interactive whiteboards, audio-visual equipment, etc. Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and follow all board and school policies Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a person with a disability to perform the essential functions of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Successful experience counseling school-age students preferred Certification or Licensure in Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
