Job Description

Seeking a Contract Mental Health Therapist works with clients to help them overcome and manage different mental and emotional challenges. Their duties include meeting with clients to listen to their problems, diagnosing their mental or emotional disorder and building treatment plans and coping strategies for the client to follow.
Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work along with a current practitioner license through the state's clinical therapy board is required for mental health counselors/social workers. Able to work independently and as a positive member of a team Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships mentally or emotionally with clients and their families. Working knowledge of legal guidelines stipulating psychiatric admission requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable treating both routine and serious mental health illness Strong computer literacy skills
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform initial evaluations of client needs and develop customized treatment plans that will be revised every 90 days. Complete and maintain documentation within 24 hours, in a timely and accurate manner and according to Federal, State, and Practice guidelines. Monitor client progress and modify their treatment plans as needed. Coordinate with social and medical agencies, organizations, and healthcare providers and community outreach programs to provide clients with needed services. Complete continuing education courses to maintain state licensure and stay-up-to-date on the latest practices. Collaborate with external psychiatric care providers as well as representatives from civic assistance programs to help schedule treatment sessions for those patients who need them. Attend all scheduled staff meetings; communicate any absence to clinical director/supervisor Follow up with psychiatrists and/or attending physicians in cases involving hospital admissions Policies and procedures: adhere to all policies and procedures and code of conduct and ethics.
