Job Description

The Mental Health Therapist (Therapist) is an essential member of the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC). The Therapist ensures the highest quality of care to our clients by provide comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations, as well as medically necessary outpatient therapy services to adults and children with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health challenges so they may attain personal outcomes and lead full, meaningful lives. Responsibilities for
Mental Health Therapist:
Complete comprehensive clinical assessments for adults and children with a wide variety of mental, substance abuse and co-occurring mental health challenges. Determine service need(s) and medical necessity. Formulate comprehensive person-centered treatment plans that are individualized to the individual/family's specific treatment needs and are based on clinical experience and knowledge. Utilize various, best-practice therapy modalities of treatment. Provide individual and group therapy services. Provide psycho-education on self-management skills building tools Refer individuals inquiring about services or on service to appropriate community agencies and resources. Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. Provide crisis intervention and response during and after-hours for individuals assigned to caseload or as additional on-call roles for the agency. Prepare/obtain correspondence and reports as necessary to implement effective assessments, treatment plans and therapy services. Attend clinical review teams as requested or assigned. Prepare and maintain all state, local, federal and company documentation, treatment records and reports.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Plan outreach and referral activities in surrounding communities. Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy. Incorporates the patient's psycho-social functioning and strengths in the plan of care. Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in crisis. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a substantially equivalent subject matter. Must have appropriate licensure, such as License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), License Master Social Worker (LMSW) License Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), License Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor(LCADC) or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT)that is in good standing with the Maryland Department of Health.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Positive attitude and open approach to patients, staff, and visitors. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Strong knowledge of addiction, treatment, and recovery. Experience and ability to work with electronic medical records is required. Must pass state and federal criminal background check. Reliable transportation and able to travel as needed.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
