About Forward Together Counseling FTC is a growing group practice in Silver Spring, MD offering individual, couples, and family therapy to clients across Maryland and DC. We conceptualize ourselves as primary care for mental and relational health: an entry point into the mental health system, not a last resort. The Role We're looking for a licensed or provisionally licensed therapist with experience working with children and families to join our clinical team. This is a full-time position based out of our Silver Spring office, with telehealth flexibility for appropriate clients. Child and teen sessions are conducted in person at our Silver Spring office. The role requires consistent evening and/or weekend availability. Specific scheduling expectations will be discussed during the interview process. What You'll Do Carry a full caseload of child, teen, and family clients, with flexibility to see adult individuals as well Provide high-quality, effective treatment tailored to each client's needs and goals Collaborate with families, schools, and other providers as part of coordinated care Participate in weekly individual and group supervision and consultation Complete documentation within established timeframes (notes within 24 hours, treatment plans within the first month, updated every 90 days) Who We're Looking For Required Active MD license or eligibility for MD licensure — LGPC, LGMFT, LCSW-C, LCPC, LCMFT, or equivalent Experience working with children and/or teens in any capacity (clinical, educational, or community-based) Ability to see child and teen clients in person at our Silver Spring office Consistent availability for some evenings and/or weekends Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field Systems orientation: you view the family as part of treatment, not just the backdrop Commitment to involving parents and caregivers as active participants in their child's treatment — this is how we work, not optional Preferred Training or interest in established clinical modalities (Theraplay, TF-CBT, Gottman, EFT, EMDR, or similar) DC licensure or eligibility (a plus, not a requirement) What We Offer Clinical Support MD and DC board-approved supervision for provisionally licensed clinicians (LGPC, LGMFT) Weekly individual and group supervision and consultation Additional training in child and family therapy modalities provided Collaborative team environment with experienced supervisors Compensation Hourly rate From $45/hour — based on licensure and experience Employment type W-2, full-time Paid Sick leave Accrued at rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked 401(k) with employer match Eligible after 6 months; 100% of first 1% + 50% of next 5% (max 3.5%) ICHRA (health insurance) Monthly contribution toward your own Marketplace plan — amount based on hours Aflac voluntary plans STD, accident, hospital, cancer, and life insurance — FTC contributes $40/month Cell phone stipend $25/month EAP 6 free confidential mental health sessions/year (Doctegrity) CEUs $250/year for all clinicians, plus 40 paid hours and one major training every two years for clinicians averaging 20+ sessions/week (Theraplay, Gottman, EFT Externship, or similar) Equal Opportunity Employer Forward Together Counseling is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
