Job Description

I-Matter Outpatient Mental Health Center is seeking a flexible, motivated, and accountable Mental Health Therapist to provide services across in-office, telehealth, and community settings. This is a fee-for-service role designed for clinicians who: want flexibility and autonomy are comfortable meeting clients where they are can manage their time, documentation, and caseload independently are committed to high-quality, structured clinical care What You'll Do Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy Conduct comprehensive intakes and diagnostic assessments Review intake forms and accurately synthesize key information into clinical documentation Develop treatment plans within the first 3-5 sessions Complete symptom assessments every 3-6 months (or as clinically indicated) Maintain timely documentation (within 72 hours) Enter charges after each session Collaborate with psychiatric providers and PRP staff Attend weekly treatment team meetings Safely work in community settings when needed This role includes: In-office sessions Telehealth sessions Community-based sessions (as needed) You must be comfortable working across all three.
You will be expected to:
recognize when a client needs a higher level of care and refer appropriately actively engage clients beyond sessions by: assigning and following up on therapeutic homework encouraging participation in I-Matter groups, events, and outings conducting home or community-based visits when clinically appropriate track and follow up on client engagement efforts as part of treatment
Caseload Expectation:
Part-Time:
approximately 15 clients
Fee-for-Service:
approximately 15-30 clients, based on availability and performance Compensation This is a fee-for-service position, with compensation tied to completed and submitted documentation.
Individual Therapy Sessions:
starting at $55 per completed note
Family Sessions:
up to $60 per completed note
Intake Assessments:
up to $100 per completed intake Additional compensation available for: crisis sessions treatment team participation discharge summaries Therapists who maintain consistent caseloads and complete documentation on time have strong earning potential. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field Active Maryland license (LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC) Minimum 2 years clinical experience preferred Strong documentation and clinical decision-making skills Experience or comfort in community-based therapy and non-clinical settings. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques, behavioral interventions, and crisis management strategies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt interventions to diverse environments and populations. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to community sites.
Required Participation Treatment Team Meetings:
Thursdays 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (business casual attire)
Quarterly In-Person Staff Meetings:

A typical week may include:
Managing a caseload across office, telehealth, and community settings Completing documentation within required timeframes Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team A part-time therapist working a moderate, flexible schedule may have a week like this: Monday 3 individual telehealth sessions 1 discharge summary Tuesday 2 individual in-office sessions Wednesday 3 individual telehealth sessions Thursday 2 individual in-office sessions Treatment team meeting Friday 2 in-office intake assessments Saturday (Community-Based) In-home crisis response: 1 individual session 1 family session with client Estimated Weekly Earnings 10 individual sessions × $55 = $550 2 intakes × $80 = $160 1 treatment team meeting = $50 1 crisis session = $65 1 family session = $60 1 discharge summary = $15
