At Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority (NeMCMHA), we're looking for compassionate, skilled therapists to join our outpatient team—providing evidence-based care to individuals navigating mental health challenges. This is more than a clinical role—it's a chance to walk alongside children, adults, and families as they build resilience, overcome obstacles, and pursue wellness. You'll work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where your expertise is valued and your impact is felt every day. What You'll Do As an Outpatient Therapist, you'll provide direct clinical services in both traditional and community-based settings.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting intake assessments, pre-plans, and individualized service plans Providing individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches Delivering psychiatric emergency services including triage, crisis intervention, and stabilization Collaborating with medical providers, case managers, and community partners Participating in the agency's emergency after-hours on-call rotation Supporting the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Team Documenting services in accordance with person-centered planning and agency protocols What You Bring Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field LMSW licensure (or LLMSW with plan to obtain full licensure) At least 1 year of experience in mental health crisis intervention or stabilization Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Functional computer literacy and excellent communication skills Lived experience with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use is valued Valid Michigan driver's license and satisfactory driving record You'll Thrive Here If You… Are passionate about trauma-informed, recovery-focused care Value collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning Want to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact Enjoy working in a supportive, mission-driven environment About Us NeMCMHA has proudly served Alpena, Alcona, Presque Isle, and Montmorency counties since 1968.
