POSITION SUMMARY
The Child and Adolescent outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing professional mental health services to an assigned caseload. These services shall include assessment, service planning, individual, group or family-based interventions. The Clinician/Case Manager provides these services within the scope of their professional discipline.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Guidance or other mental health discipline from an accredited school. CAFAS Certified within 6 months of hire date. Appropriate professional registration/certification by State/national authority required (L.M.S.W., L.L.P., R.N., etc.) Has one year experience and training in examination, evaluation and treatment of individuals with emotional disorders Bi-lingual (writing and speaking) Spanish and English preferred Knowledge of child development and childhood psychiatric disorders Ability to function effectively as part of a professional team delivering services to children and families Knowledge of family systems and ability to engage families to work collaboratively in the development of treatment plans Ability to function independently in the community Working knowledge of community resources Willingness to do outreach and provide services in the location that best meets the needs of the children Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions Knowledge of and ability to adhere and comply with the Michigan Mental Health Code, HIPAA and SWCS Code of Ethics and policies and procedures Ability to use a computer and working with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
