Job Description
Job Overview Helena Valley Health Services is expanding our mental health staff. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert mental health counseling and psychotherapy services to diverse populations, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their mental wellness goals. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in individuals' lives through evidence-based practices and personalized care. The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, and committed to promoting mental health and well-being across various settings. Pay is depending on experience with interns making less than the minimum being offered. Must have excellent communication skills (including completing paperwork timely) and being on time is a must. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute psychiatric emergencies effectively while ensuring patient safety. Facilitate intake procedures, medical documentation, and maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records with precision. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management plans for patients with complex needs, including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Provide specialized counseling services such as grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and chronic pain management. Utilize telehealth platforms to extend access to mental health services remotely while maintaining high standards of patient care. Engage in clinical research activities and data collection efforts to support continuous improvement of therapeutic approaches. Skills Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychopharmacology. Strong working knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for accurate diagnosis documentation and billing processes. Experience in crisis management and crisis intervention within inpatient or outpatient settings. Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatrics across diverse environments such as clinics or hospitals. Skilled in conducting intake assessments, patient care planning, and medical record keeping aligned with HIPAA regulations. Familiarity with telehealth technology platforms for remote patient engagement. Excellent communication skills for conducting social work activities, family counseling sessions, and patient education on mental health topics. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to behavioral health conditions and treatment plans. Capable of managing group therapy sessions and applying behavior management strategies for various populations.
