Program Therapist - Adolescent Residential Treatment / PRTF Full-Time | On-Site | Kinston, NC | Competitive Salary DOE + Full Benefits Make a meaningful impact with adolescents in a structured, clinically focused residential setting. This 43-bed PRTF provides trauma-informed, clinically driven care for youth in a structured residential environment and is seeking several Program Therapists to join its expanding clinical team. This is an excellent full-time, opportunity for licensed, associate-level, or license-eligible clinicians who are passionate about working with adolescents and families in residential treatment, acute behavioral health, or psychiatric care. About the Opportunity The Program Therapist will report to the Director of Clinical Services and provide individual, group, and family therapy services for adolescents in a psychiatric residential treatment setting. The facility has a strong clinical culture, a collaborative interdisciplinary team, on-site psychiatric support, and a certified school program that works closely with the clinical department. Schedule This is a full-time, 100% on-site position .
Typical schedules may include:
Monday-Friday, approximately 9:00 AM-5:00 PM or 11:00 AM-7:00 PM There is also a rotating weekend expectation approximately once every seven weeks . Key Responsibilities Provide individual, group, and family therapy services to adolescent residents. Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, progress notes, discharge planning, and related clinical documentation. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborate closely with psychiatry, nursing, education, residential staff, and leadership. Support residents and families using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and evidence-supported clinical approaches. Help develop and implement individualized treatment goals, behavioral interventions, and therapeutic programming. Provide case management and family communication as needed throughout the resident's course of treatment. Maintain documentation in accordance with facility, regulatory, and clinical standards. Collaborate with residential and educational teams to support a consistent therapeutic environment. Participate in training opportunities and contribute to a culture of clinical growth, teamwork, and shared ideas. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field required. LCSW-A, LCMHC-A, LCSW, LCMHC, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent licensure preferred, but unlicensed master's-level clinicians may be considered . New graduates may be considered if they completed practicum, internship, or field placement experience in acute psychiatric, residential treatment, behavioral health, youth services, or a similar clinical setting . Experience with adolescents, children, families, trauma, residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric care, or behavioral health is strongly preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care is highly preferred. Interest or experience in TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, family therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and adolescent behavioral health is a plus. Strong documentation, communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment skills required. Must be comfortable working 100% on-site in Kinston, NC.
