Job Description
Founded in 2000 and with locations in MA and NH, the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center is among the oldest eating disorder centers in the country with an experienced, multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, psychologists, counselors and registered dietitians. Our staff provides clients with tools, education, therapy and support on reducing disordered eating through nutrition, coping skills, and improved body image, as well as addressing co-existing psychiatric conditions. CEDC is accredited by the Joint Commission. The Joint Commission gold seal of approval is a nationally-recognized symbol of quality, indicating that an organization has met rigorous performance.
Qualifications:
BA/BS. Required BA/BS. in Psychology preferred Experience with eating disorders preferred Ability to multi-task Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member Good written clinical communication skills Ability to work independentlyResponsibilities:
Provide individual support and client education around eating disordered behaviors and related issues. Orient clients to the milieu and groups. Address daily and immediate client needs/concerns. Provide emotional guidance to families during visits by offering information and support. Assist in the preparation and set up of meals and snacks. Supervise meals and snacks while modeling healthy and normalized eating; enforce compliance with non-eating disordered behaviors. Facilitate and co-facilitate groups for clients. Conduct risk assessments for clients whom express suicidal thoughts. Actively participate in community forums and/or trainings focuses on eating disorders. Escort clients to offsite emergency appointments. Communicate with client's treatment team, (i.e. psychiatrist, case manager, dietician, and family therapist) regarding client care issues and concerns. Take and interpret vital signs and weights. Complete Group Participation, Meal Logs and other individual Progress notes as needed. Obtaining menus from clients and explanation of nutritional guidelines. Attend the PHP Rounds Meeting weekly. Maintain kitchen inventory and kitchen organization. Maintain organization of milieu. Audit discharged client charts upon completion by case manager. Perform others duties as needed.Job Type:
