Behavioral Health Therapist (DOH/SATC #30655) State of New Mexico - 3.4 Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time $32.15 - $48.23 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Posting Details This posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. Why does the job exist? This position will provide inpatient treatment in the adolescent treatment center. The incumbent is responsible for all phases of treatment including assessments, individual, group and family therapy, case management and representation at legal proceedings and at the time of discharge. The position requires extensive planning, documentation, reporting and working closely with Children Youth and Families Department (CYFD) and Juvenile Justice System (JJS) providers. Incumbent will work with individuals who may exhibit violent behavior. How does it get done? Crisis Prevention Intervention and Trauma Informed Care are the cornerstone of treatment at Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. De-escalation techniques and coping mechanisms are offered to residents and life skills are taught to assist with success upon discharge. Who are the customers? Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression. Ideal Candidate Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history of violence and aggression. Minimum Qualification Licensure in New Mexico as an LMSW, LISW, LMHC, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or LPAT and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. This position may work in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
