Job Description

MST is an intensive family and community-based treatment that addresses the multiple influences that contribute to serious antisocial or illegal behaviors in youth aged 11-17.5 years. Treatment entails 3-5 months of work with the family of the youth in their home. MST-PSB is multisystemic therapy for youth with problem sexual behaviors, and it is an adaptation from classic
MST. MST-PSB
targets families with youth ages 10-17.5. MST uses the strengths of each system (e.g., family, peers, school, neighborhood, indigenous support network) to promote behavior change in the youth's natural environment. The ultimate goal of MST is to empower parents, and ensure they have or develop the skills and resources needed, to address the difficulties that arise in raising children and adolescents and to similarly empower youth to cope with systemic stressors.
Examples of Work Performed:
Use the MST principles to utilize the strengths of families, while focusing on being positive, increasing responsibility, and increasing the family's accountability. Produce a thorough assessment of the client and family to verify the need for MST-PSB. You will gather strengths, needs, and learn their overall ecological system to ensure conceptualization of the problem behaviors and how they are influencing client and family functioning. Participate in weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress, with continuing support from your MST consultant, team members, and supervision, all through group supervision. Participate in regular training, professional development, supervision, and consultation activities designed to help you acquire extensive clinical skills within the MST treatment model. Build rapport with stakeholders to ensure a strong connection within the community. Continuously work to engage the primary caregiver, family members and any other formal/ informal supports in change-oriented treatment. Maintain consistent clinical contact with families while also managing case management expectations and paperwork responsibilities. Support clinical evaluations and/or intake screenings to assess clinical appropriateness, individual treatment needs, and recommendations. Provide services primarily in person with some rare exceptions for telehealth. Maintain availability for your clients 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday, with an on-call therapist rotation on the weekends. On-call therapists provide 24/hr. coverage for your clients on the weekend. Travel to neighboring cities in/near Sandoval County such as Jemez Springs, Bernalillo City, or Cuba.
