Job Description

The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene & Social Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated professionals to join our Behavioral Health team as a Behavioral Health Therapist. This position provides individual, family, and group therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting. Services are delivered through our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) as well as satellite locations located in local schools and pediatric offices throughout the community. As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will help individuals navigate mental health, behavioral health, and substance use challenges while supporting long-term recovery, wellness, and improved quality of life. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will: Conduct intake assessments, screenings, and clinical interviews Evaluate client needs and develop individualized treatment plans Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches Assist clients in addressing mental health, behavioral health, substance use, and social challenges Monitor client progress and collaborate with clients to establish and achieve treatment goals Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with NYS regulations and CCBHC standards Participate in crisis intervention and support services as needed Coordinate care with community providers, schools, healthcare organizations, and human service agencies Assist with referrals and transitions to appropriate levels of care Participate as an active member of an interdisciplinary treatment team Develop discharge plans and coordinate ongoing support services Maintain knowledge of community resources and supportive services available to clients Provide clinical information necessary for treatment authorization and billing processes
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to meet transportation requirements necessary to perform fieldwork assignments as needed at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
Appointment Information:
This position is being filled on a provisional basis pending the administration and establishment of an eligible list from a future Civil Service examination for this title.
Pay:
$32.79 - $43.26 per hour
