Position Summary:
Join a dedicated team supporting the emotional well-being and success of students. The Mental Health Therapist will provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling to the student's in the schools served. The therapist will be responsible to teach a Social and Emotional program to all the classes in the assigned school. Assisting principals and education staff in the best ways to handle challenging behavior. This is a 10 month position with a work schedule of August 1 - May 31.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work with licensure in the State of Ohio; Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, or Licensed Independent Social worker.
  • Experience providing mental health treatment to a variety of clientele.
  • Successful experience working with people from various social and cultural communities.
  • Valid driver's license and low risk driving record and is insurable by the University.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
  • Mental health counseling experience in a K-12 school setting.
  • Knowledge of Catholic schools and their culture.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working independently and productively.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working as part of a team.
  • Successful demonstration of flexibility in day to day activities.
  • Demonstrated successful experience building and sustaining relationship and partnerships with school staff and community.
