Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and a passion for helping individuals navigate their behavioral challenges. This role involves working with children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities, providing therapeutic support through various modalities including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral management. Requirements

Duties Conduct assessments and intake evaluations to determine client needs and develop appropriate treatment plans. Provide individual and group therapy sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis. Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients in acute distress or emergencies. Collaborate with families to enhance child and family counseling efforts, ensuring a supportive environment for growth and healing. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for diagnosis and treatment records. Engage in case management activities to coordinate care among various service providers and ensure continuity of care. Participate in clinical research initiatives to contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices. Offer telehealth services as needed to reach clients who may benefit from remote support. Provide education on mental health issues, coping strategies, and resources available to clients and their families. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences: Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis management, and behavioral therapy techniques. Familiarity with working with children, individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or those experiencing PTSD or chronic pain. Background in clinical counseling settings such as inpatient or outpatient clinics is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment processes, and direct support practices is essential. Experience with group therapy facilitation and art or dance therapy techniques is a plus. Strong understanding of psychopharmacology principles as they relate to patient care. Ability to collect data for research purposes while maintaining confidentiality of medical records.
