Full Job Description About Us:
Brighter Minds Therapy is a therapeutic clinic in Eugene, OR serving adults, teens, and children who want to experience a greater sense of well-being and efficacy in their lives. Clients come to us from all walks of life and with issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, acute and developmental trauma, C/PTSD, emotional dysregulation, autism, and suboptimal executive functioning. We employ multiple therapy modalities, including infra-low (ILF) neurofeedback and eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), to help our clients develop more regulated nervous systems and recover from trauma and/or limiting beliefs and behaviors. We strive to create a sense that we are invested in our clients' lives and recovery, and we tailor treatment to each individual client's needs.
Position Summary:
A Neurofeedback Technician is needed to provide neurofeedback therapy sessions under the supervision of our licensed clinician. The ideal candidate should be passionate about helping people improve their lives, and should be compassionate and sensitive to the backgrounds, needs, and temperaments of our clients. The position will start as part-time, but may lead to a full-time position in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include setting up equipment, applying sensors, monitoring brainwave activity, guiding clients through protocols, maintaining records, ensuring client comfort and safety, reporting concerns, keeping the treatment area clean, adhering to confidentiality laws and practices, and providing basic education about neurofeedback.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate's or bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field and previous experience in neurofeedback, EEG, or behavioral therapy are preferred. We will, however, provide training to candidates without a background in psychology or neurofeedback provided that they demonstrate curiosity, an ability to learn new skills, and strengths in relating to others in a positive, supportive manner. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, familiarity with technology, comfort with supporting people in a therapeutic environment, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and sensitivity to diverse client presentations are also important.
