Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical tools and medical terminology to determine individual treatment needs. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing various therapeutic modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent mental health situations effectively and ensure patient safety. Facilitate intake procedures for new clients, including completing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation and records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate behavioral management techniques, social work principles, addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and special education considerations when applicable. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts and optimize patient care outcomes. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient progress using appropriate CPT coding for billing purposes while adhering to confidentiality standards. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy. Strong knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic classification. Skilled in crisis management, crisis intervention, behavior management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Experience working with children, pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings. Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery. Ability to perform patient assessments effectively while utilizing medical terminology and understanding of mental health disorders such as PTSD or chronic pain conditions. Excellent communication skills for conducting intake interviews and providing patient education on mental health topics including psychopharmacology when relevant. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to medical records and data collection processes.
