Job Description

The Behavior and Counseling Center is a growing private practice serving children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout Philadelphia and the Main Line. Our work is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, behavior modification, and helping clients build lives that feel safer, steadier, and more connected. We are looking for a part-time child and family therapist who genuinely enjoys working with neurodivergent children, teens, and their families — someone who understands that behavior is communication, that parents are often exhausted and overwhelmed, and that children with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or behavioral challenges need support that is patient, practical, and compassionate. This is a 1099 role that offers flexibility, autonomy, and steady referrals without the pressure cooker atmosphere that so many clinicians are burned out by. You'll build a caseload focused primarily on children, teens, and families, with the option to work with adults depending on your interests and strengths. Many of the clients referred to this role may be navigating autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, school difficulties, emotional outbursts, anxiety, social challenges, parenting stress, or family conflict. We are especially interested in clinicians who have experience with ASD, ADHD, ABA-informed work, parent coaching, behavior modification, or child-centered family therapy. This is a therapy-focused role, but ABA experience, BCBA training, or behavioral consultation experience can be a strong fit when paired with a warm, relational, family-centered clinical approach. You'll provide individual therapy, parent support, and family work depending on your clinical style and comfort level. We keep documentation reasonable and focused on what actually matters clinically. We're a collaborative practice. You won't feel like you're practicing in a silo. There is real clinical consultation, mentorship if you want it, and leadership that cares about quality care over volume. Our primary focus is on quality of care for clients, not quantity of client loads. One thing that sets our practice apart is that the owner is a full-time clinician. Leadership here understands the day-to-day realities of therapy work — from complex sessions to documentation demands — because they are doing the work themselves. Clinical decisions are guided by experience in the therapy room, not just administrative priorities. Pay ranges from $55-$115 per session, depending on licensure level, experience, and the complexity of the work. We handle marketing, intake flow, and referrals so you can focus on therapy. There's room to grow into more hours or leadership roles over time if that's something you want. We're looking for someone with a master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or a related field, and fully-licensed in Pennsylvania. This may include LPC, LCSW, Psychologist, BCBA/LBS, or another relevant credential. Experience working with children and families is important. Experience with ASD, ADHD, behavioral challenges, ABA principles, parent training, emotional regulation, school consultation, or neurodivergent clients is strongly preferred. Trauma-informed work, CBT, DBT skills, play therapy, family systems, and behavior modification experience are all a plus — but we care more about who you are in the room than checking every modality box. If you're tired of feeling like just another provider number, and you want a practice that values depth, integrity, sustainable clinical work, and compassionate support for children and families, we'd love to hear from you.
