IOP Therapist

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive outpatient therapy services to individuals across diverse age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help clients develop effective coping strategies, improve their mental health, and achieve meaningful recovery. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes innovative treatment approaches, including behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art and dance therapy, and evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and applied behavior analysis (ABA). You will play a key role in patient assessment, crisis management, and case coordination while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Duties Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans. Provide individual and group therapy sessions employing various therapeutic techniques such as psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and motivational interviewing. Develop personalized treatment strategies for clients with diverse needs, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD, grief issues, addiction challenges, chronic pain management, and gender issues counseling. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts and optimize patient care outcomes. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA standards; utilize ICD coding for accurate record keeping and billing purposes. Facilitate telehealth sessions when necessary to expand access to care and ensure continuity of treatment. Experience Proven experience working in outpatient or inpatient behavioral health settings with a focus on mental health counseling or clinical social work. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and trauma-informed care including PTSD. Hands-on experience with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards. Prior experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Knowledge of telehealth platforms and delivering remote patient care effectively is preferred. Strong understanding of social work principles, behavior management strategies, special education practices for pediatrics or geriatrics populations, and behavioral health best practices.
