Job Description
Sandal Gap is seeking a licensed clinician to join our growing team of mental health providers. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about working across the lifespan and values a collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to care. The position will primarily focus on adult clients, with opportunities to expand clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Services are delivered through a hybrid model, including both in-person sessions at our Honolulu clinic and telehealth services. Position Overview Provide psychotherapy services to a diverse client population, many of whom have experienced trauma, with a focus on healing, personal growth, emotional regulation, and strengthening self-worth. Clinicians will support clients across the lifespan (approximately ages 5-64) in improving overall mental health, relationships, and daily functioning. Key Responsibilities Provide individual, family, and/or couples therapy to clients across the lifespan Develop and implement individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans Conduct comprehensive assessments, including clinical interviews and observations Support clients in building effective coping skills, emotional regulation, and insight Utilize developmentally appropriate and creative interventions (e.g., play-based or expressive techniques when appropriate) Adapt therapeutic approaches based on client needs, progress, and clinical presentation Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation Collaborate with families, schools, medical providers, and community partners as needed Provide crisis intervention and coordinate care during high-risk situations Refer clients to appropriate community resources and specialists when indicated Uphold all ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards Additional Responsibilities Maintain regular communication with supervisors and team members Foster a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education Assist in identifying and utilizing community mental health resources Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including evenings and/or weekends to support caseload growth Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (required) Active or eligible licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT (candidates working toward licensure will be considered) Experience providing therapy to diverse populations, including children and adolescents Training or experience in trauma-informed care (required) Experience with family therapy preferred Familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as CBT, EMDR, EFT, play therapy, or expressive arts is a plus Strong understanding of the DSM-5 and clinical diagnostic processes Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Requirements Maintain active professional liability insurance ($1M/$3M coverage) Maintain compliance with all state and regulatory requirements Maintain registration with DCCA (Hawaii) Why Join Sandal Gap?
