POSITION SUMMARY
The therapist provides outpatient therapy that may include individual, family, group, Intensive Outpatient, and psychoeducation sessions for individuals and families seeking therapy. Therapy is defined by scheduled sessions with an identified problem(s), developed goals of sessions, and objectives and steps to meet established goals. Job duties include securing authorization for sessions when indicated, referring to a higher or lower level of care when needed, communicating to identified collateral contacts, coordinating care between providers (Physical/Social/Behavioral) and managing the treatment and referrals for outpatient cases.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree:
Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work (Master's concentration in Family therapy for those working with children/youth) Licensed by the State of Michigan at Masters LevelADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR SPECIALITY IF PROVIDING SERVICES TO CLIENTS WITH SUD
Must possess CADC or CAADC certification or be in the process of receiving certification (Development Plan)IF PROVIDING SERVICES TO CHILDREN/YOUTH
Appropriate Masters concentration and prior experience with children/youthREQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
• Other Duties as assigned.Complete Assessments:
Each client receives a thorough and complete biopsychosocial assessment by the therapist within the specified time frames to assess the client's history and identify treatment needs, updating as needed and at least annually. Prepares aComprehensive Treatment Plan:
The therapist completes a Treatment Plan for each assigned client to identify the needs and interventions to meet those needs.Provides Treatment Modalities:
The therapist functions as an integral part of a treatment dyad and provides primary care to client and their families as indicated in theTreatment Plan HR/ Job Description/ Therapist Provides Basic Coordination of Services:
The therapist will provide basic coordination of services for each assigned client as needed or as required by the establishedTreatment Plan Medical Record Documentation:
The therapist provides accurate and timely documentation of treatment provided to assigned clients and their families to assure a quality record, per the clinic's policies and procedures.Ongoing Competence Areas:
Therapist maintains supportive working relationships with all facets of the clinic to optimally impact the culture of the clinic. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with appropriate state credentials. Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, or clinical social work within outpatient or inpatient settings. Strong knowledge of coding systems for diagnostic purposes. Experience working with adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, or patients with chronic pain. Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
