Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide expert mental health counseling and psychotherapy services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to individual needs. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on issues like grief, addiction, PTSD, gender identity, chronic pain management, and developmental disabilities. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes. Maintain detailed medical records and document all patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Engage in clinical research activities or data collection efforts to support continuous improvement of therapeutic practices. Requirements Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with appropriate state certification. Proven experience in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, or behavioral health settings—preferably with outpatient or inpatient populations. Strong knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health care. Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, or special education populations is highly desirable. Proficiency in telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely is preferred; experience with hospital settings is a plus. Skills in motivational interviewing, crisis management, behavior management techniques, addiction counseling, grief counseling, psychopharmacology knowledge are advantageous. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while demonstrating empathy and active listening skills.
