About Us:
Empower Youth Therapy is a growing mental health practice dedicated to supporting children teens and young adults and their families through compassionate, evidence-based care. We specialize in helping adolescents and young adults navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, school stress, and family relationships. Our mission is to provide a safe space where teens and young adults can feel heard, understood, and empowered to thrive.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Teen Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with adolescents, has strong clinical skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment. This role involves providing individual, group, and family therapy to teens and their caregivers, conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and maintaining high-quality clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual therapy to adolescents and young adults ages 12-26, and as needed, family or parent sessions. Facilitate therapy groups focused on teen mental health topics (anxiety, depression, self-esteem, coping skills, etc.). Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor client progress. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Collaborate with school staff, healthcare providers, and community organizations as appropriate to support client care. Participate in clinical supervision (if pre-licensed) and team case consultations. Stay current with best practices and evidence-based interventions for adolescent mental health.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited program. Active California license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or registration as an Associate (ASW, AMFT, APCC) in good standing. Experience working with adolescents and their families in a therapeutic setting. Strong knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while being a supportive member of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, or other evidence-based modalities. Experience facilitating therapy groups for teens. Familiarity with school systems and collaboration with educators.
