Mental Health Therapist (LCSW-C, LCPC, LGSW, or LGPC) UnityFirst Wellness Windsor Mill, MD Job Details Part-time | Contract $84,877.90 - $102,218.54 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Professional development assistance Conference stipend Flexible schedule Qualifications Spanish Psychiatry Outpatient Master's degree Documentation tools Telehealth experience Telehealth platforms Telehealth therapy Social Work Full Job Description Unity First MindCare • Outpatient Mental Health Clinic • Baltimore, MDAbout Unity Wellness Unity First MindCare is the behavioral health practice within Unity Wellness, opening this fall in Baltimore. We provide outpatient psychiatric care, individual and group therapy, and intensive outpatient programming for the people who hold this city together — first responders, frontline workers, federal employees, professionals, and the broader adult community we serve. We are founded and led by a Black, double board-certified nurse practitioner who spent fourteen years inside violence prevention, trauma services, and crisis response work before deciding to build the practice this community has been waiting for. This is not a startup. It is the next chapter of a fourteen-year body of work, and it is happening. About the Role We are looking for a Mental Health Therapist to join the founding clinical team of UnityFirst MindCare. This is a founding clinician role — you will help shape clinical workflows, group programming, our IOP curriculum, and the culture of how care is delivered here. You will work alongside our PMHNP and to provide therapy, psychosocial assessments, and care coordination for a patient population that includes first responders, frontline workers, federal employees, professionals, and the general adult population we serve in our first six months. We are open to applicants holding either of the following independent Maryland credentials: LCSW-C or LCPC. This is an independent clinical role — you will diagnose, treat, and bill under your own credentials from Day 1. What You Will Do Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for new patients Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, trauma-focused therapies) Co-facilitate group therapy and IOP cohorts, including specialty groups for first responders and trauma survivors Collaborate with the PMHNP on integrated medication management and therapy plans Develop and maintain person-centered treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in Athena EHR Coordinate care with hospital discharge planners, primary care providers, and external specialists Participate in monthly case consultation, quality improvement reviews, and ongoing program development Required Qualifications Active Maryland clinical credential in good standing: LCSW-C or LCPC Master's degree from an accredited program (CSWE for social work, CACREP or equivalent for counseling) Comfortable using EHRs, AI-supported documentation tools, and telehealth platforms Strong written and verbal communication skills Maryland resident or willing to commute to Baltimore County Preferred Qualifications Training in EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, IFS, or other trauma-focused modalities Experience working with first responders, frontline workers, or high-stress professional populations Group therapy and IOP facilitation experience Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages spoken in our service area) Strong cultural competency relevant to the diverse populations we serve Who Thrives at Unity Wellness You believe excellent, culturally responsive care should be the standard, not the exception, and you want to be part of building practice that delivers it You think for yourself. You tell the truth even when it is uncomfortable. You do not need to be told what to do every minute You see this job as a chapter in a larger story, not your final destination. You are pursuing growth, whether that is more credentials, a niche specialty, a second degree, or your own business someday You are comfortable with technology and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in clinical and operational work. AI scribes, AI documentation aids, AI-supported scheduling, and AI-supported workflows are part of how we operate, and we expect you to use them well and ethically You bring cultural humility and the ability to serve diverse populations with respect and clinical excellence You honor your own family. We will honor it back Compensation & Schedule Competitive hourly rate commensurate with credentials and experience (1099 status) Part-time launch with clear pathway to full-time as census grows Production bonuses available as patient panel scales Professional Development & Growth Growth as a Promise is one of our core values. We do not just say we invest in our team. We do it. For this role, that means: Reimbursement of continuing education units (CEUs) required for your license Annual training stipend for conferences, specialty certifications, or advanced trainings aligned with your career goals (EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, IFS, perinatal mental health, addictions specialty, trauma-focused certifications) Quarterly group case consultation with the leadership team What We Commit to You Schedules built around the assumption you have a life outside of work Protected, uninterrupted lunch breaks. Lunch is not a meeting Hybrid work where the role permits: clinical work in person as needed, telehealth, administrative and documentation work wherever you work best Active mentorship and sponsorship of your next chapter, whatever that looks like Professional development support including training stipends, conference attendance, and continuing education aligned with your goals Direct, respectful communication. Your input is wanted. Disagreement is welcomed when it is constructive Transparent pathways to increased hours, expanded scope, leadership roles, or specialty development as the practice grows A Final Word From the Founder I am building UnityFirst MindCare because the kind of practice I would want for my own family did not exist in the way I needed it to. If that resonates with you, I want to hear from you. We are aligned in believing that excellent care should be the standard, not the exception. Tell me your story. —
