Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic mental health team as an Outpatient Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive behavioral health services to diverse patient populations. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide individual, group, and family counseling within outpatient settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to foster healing and growth. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, manage crises, and develop coping strategies to improve their overall well-being. This role offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team committed to compassionate care and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to establish treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Provide individual and group therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to ensure client safety during urgent situations. Engage in case management activities, including patient care coordination, medical documentation, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant medical records. Collaborate with families and support systems through child & family counseling, working with children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder when applicable. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to deliver outpatient services remotely, ensuring accessibility for all clients. Maintain professional development by staying current with research, clinical best practices, ICD coding updates, CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and behavioral therapy. Strong skills in motivational interviewing and social work principles to foster client engagement and motivation for change. Expertise in working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, and those experiencing gender issues or chronic pain. Ability to manage crises effectively through crisis intervention methods and crisis management protocols. Familiarity with medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance and
ICD/ICD-10/ICD-9
coding systems for accurate record keeping. Experience in outpatient clinical settings or hospital environments is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions and psychopharmacology when applicable. $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
