Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various therapeutic modalities and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities, to assess their needs and develop effective treatment plans. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients. Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations effectively. Offer specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and support for individuals with chronic pain. Facilitate child and family counseling sessions, ensuring a supportive environment for all participants. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and case management. Engage in clinical research and data collection to enhance therapeutic practices. Provide telehealth services as needed to accommodate client preferences. Utilize behavioral therapy techniques such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for clients with autism or developmental disabilities. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LICSW, LGSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) is required. Experience working with children and families is preferred; hospital experience is a plus. Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques including art therapy, dance therapy, psychopharmacology, and gender issues counseling is beneficial. Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and mental health counseling practices. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in medical terminology and experience with medical records management is essential. Knowledge of special education processes and experience working with geriatrics or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
