Summer Support Companion for Active 14 Year Old Teen | Autism & ADHD Experience Required Adam Tristan ADHD Consulting New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 $25

Part-time Job Summary:
A family in New Smyrna Beach is seeking an energetic, reliable summer companion for their 14 year old son who has autism and ADHD (combined presentation). This is not a babysitting role. This is a structured companion position with a detailed daily protocol provided by the family's ADHD consulting team. Your day will include taking him to the pool, the beach, on bike rides, and on outings. You will play games, build Legos, listen to him talk about space and hurricanes, and be the kind of person he looks forward to seeing every morning. This is a professional engagement with weekly consulting team support, a detailed field guide, and clear daily structure provided before your first day. 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for 8 weeks this summer.
Responsibilities:
Take our son on community outings including the pool, beach, parks, errands, and exploration Provide active engagement and companionship during daytime hours while parents work from home Follow a structured daily schedule with built in flexibility for activities and interests Support morning routines, snack schedules, and independent time transitions Model calm, regulated behavior during challenging moments Communicate daily with the family through a brief end of day check in Participate in weekly check ins with the lead ADHD consultant to review progress and adjust the plan
Experience and Qualifications:
Required:
Experience working one on one with autistic and ADHD teens (ages 12 to 17), not just young children Active lifestyle and comfortable being outdoors in Florida summer heat Patient, funny, genuine personality that a 14 year old boy would actually want to be around Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Comfortable following a structured protocol designed by someone else Must pass a Level 2 background check Male preferred, ages 20 to 28
Strongly Preferred:
RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification Degree or current enrollment in psychology, special education, applied behavior analysis, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, or kinesiology Experience with de escalation and nervous system regulation techniques CPR and First Aid certified Experience as a camp counselor at a special needs camp
