$75.00 per group Position Overview Threshold to Recovery is seeking a motivated and clinically-trained Unlicensed Therapist or Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) to provide individual therapy, group therapy, client intakes and assessments, and treatment planning services to male and female clients in Aurora, CO. This is a supervised clinical role designed for professionals who have completed a master's degree in a behavioral health field and are actively accumulating supervised hours toward licensure (LAC, LPC, or LCSW) or hold an active CAS credential. This is a part-time independent contractor (1099) position. The schedule is flexible and will vary based on client load and program need. Clinical supervision is provided by Threshold to Recovery and will be delivered by a qualified licensed supervisor in compliance with applicable Colorado licensure board requirements. Important Note on Licensure Status All unlicensed therapists providing services under this contract must be registered with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a Registered Psychotherapist or hold another applicable registration or credential that permits supervised clinical practice in Colorado. Contractors are responsible for maintaining their registration and complying with all applicable Colorado licensure board requirements throughout the duration of the contract. Key Responsibilities Provide individual therapy sessions to clients in recovery from substance use disorder, addressing co-occurring mental health needs as appropriate within scope Facilitate clinical and therapeutic groups for male and female clients (approximately 1-2 per week) using evidence-based and recovery-oriented approaches Conduct client intakes and biopsychosocial assessments in accordance with program protocols and applicable Colorado standards Develop, implement, and maintain individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and Threshold clinical staff Participate in regular clinical supervision with a licensed supervisor provided by Threshold to Recovery, maintaining all required documentation of supervision hours Collaborate with Threshold staff, peer specialists, and community providers to ensure coordinated, whole-person care Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with program, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 (Substance Use Disorder Confidentiality) requirements Transport clients as needed using a personal vehicle or company van in accordance with program policy Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as required Maintain professional and ethical boundaries consistent with applicable licensure board standards and the contractor's credential or registration requirements Required Qualifications Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution, OR active Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) credential in good standing Current registration with Colorado DORA as a Registered Psychotherapist, OR active CAS credential, OR other applicable Colorado credential or registration that authorizes supervised clinical practice Actively working toward Colorado licensure as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), OR holding an active CAS credential Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable personal transportation for travel to client locations and program sites in Aurora, CO Demonstrated ability to qualify for and maintain coverage under Threshold to Recovery's corporate vehicle insurance policy (required for use of company van) Ability to work with both male and female clients in a professional clinical capacity Knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and recovery-oriented treatment approaches Commitment to ethical practice and compliance with Colorado licensure board requirements throughout the contract period Preferred Qualifications Experience providing individual or group clinical services in a substance use disorder, co-occurring disorder, or community behavioral health setting Familiarity with ASAM criteria and biopsychosocial assessment processes Training or experience in evidence-based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Familiarity with Aurora, CO behavioral health resources and community supports Lived experience with substance use disorder and personal recovery (valued but not required) Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Clinical Supervision Threshold to Recovery provides clinical supervision for unlicensed contractors accumulating hours toward licensure. Supervision will be conducted by a licensed behavioral health professional designated by Threshold and will comply with the applicable Colorado licensure board's supervision requirements (LAC, LPC, or LCSW pathway, as applicable). Supervision frequency, format, and documentation requirements will be outlined in the contractor agreement. Contractors are responsible for understanding and complying with their individual licensure board's requirements regarding supervision hours, supervisor qualifications, and documentation. Threshold to Recovery does not guarantee that supervision provided will satisfy all requirements for a specific licensure pathway — contractors should verify compatibility with their board requirements prior to contracting. Compensation In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq.), the compensation for this position is disclosed as follows: Individual therapy sessions: $25.00 per session Group therapy facilitation: $75.00 per group Schedule and session volume will vary based on client load and program need. This compensation structure is fixed for this independent contractor role. Independent Contractor Status This is an independent contractor (1099) position. The contractor will not be classified as an employee of Threshold to Recovery. Contractors are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local tax obligations. This position does not include employee benefits, paid time off, unemployment insurance, or employment protections applicable to employees under Colorado or federal law. All contractors must maintain a valid DORA registration or applicable credential, a valid Colorado driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and the ability to qualify for Threshold to Recovery's corporate vehicle insurance policy throughout the duration of the contract.
