Our mission focuses on empowering individuals through comprehensive and compassionate support, helping them develop essential skills for independent living. About the role We are seeking a compassionate, qualified Child Therapist to provide therapeutic support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be experienced in using age-appropriate therapeutic techniques to help young clients process trauma, improve coping skills, and support their mental and emotional growth. What you'll do Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to understand the mental health needs of children. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices. Provide individual therapy for children dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and family conflict. Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care. Educate parents and caregivers on strategies to support the child's therapy goals at home and school. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards. Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC) in Virginia. Specialized training or certification in child/adolescent therapy (e.g., play therapy, CBT, trauma-focused therapy) is preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children and families in a clinical setting. Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build trust and rapport with children of varying ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and developmental stages.
