Job Description

Description Under the supervision of the Senior Genetic Counselor, the Genetic Counseling Assistant is responsible for facilitating the care of genetics patients seen in various Clinics at UCLA Health including ATLAS Clinic. They are an integral part of the Genetics team and contribute to the management of diverse aspects of the service, including the coordination of care for patients, optimization of clinic and operational workflows, and working collaboratively with the team to create a patient-centered and administratively effective environment.
Hourly Salary Range:
$30.36 - $43.49
Qualifications Required:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills Ability to analyze information and situations, prioritize tasks, develop solutions and make recommendations Ability to use good judgment and work independently, with little supervision, and in a team setting Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the healthcare system Ability to adapt to an ever-changing, fast-paced environment Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in interactions with patients, UCLA Health faculty and employees, and outside laboratories/healthcare teams Required to comply with UCLA Health Standards and is sensitive to the needs of patients, staff, and providers at all times. Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software, including:
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in biological/health sciences Experience with EPIC electronic medical record application, File Maker Pro Leadership/management experience Ability to speak Spanish
