Full Job Description Genomic Science Specialist I Location:
Remote Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pay range: $100,000 - $120,000 / year (vary depending on experience and candidate's state of residence) Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

We have a position available for a genetic counselor to join our Genomic Services Oncology Team at Quest Diagnostics Inc as a Genomic Science Specialist I. This position will provide support for our hereditary and somatic oncology testing. The Quest Diagnostics Genomic Services department consists of genetic counselors, genetic assistants, and genomic client service specialists. All are dedicated to promoting and executing high standards in the development, delivery, support, and promotion of commercial genetic testing. Genomic Services contributes to all aspects of genetic test development from idea to market and beyond; oversees the provision of genetic test support to clients; collaborates with Quest commercial, marketing, operations and health plan teams; and demonstrates Quest's leadership in the genetic test market through such things as scientific contributions, GC student rotations, and thought leadership. Providing support to ordering clinicians regarding test offerings, testing strategies, logistics (sample tracking/test code verification), results interpretation and education as appropriate. Serve as the liaison between client and lab regarding clinical history or other factors required for optimal lab services. Facilitate coordination with internal Quest laboratories to monitor, prioritize, and track samples. Manage case troubleshooting, follow-up, outcomes documentation, and data collection. Review orders flagged for accuracy or special requests and monitor processing. Establish and develop relationships with clients. Document client feedback regarding needs and preferences for products and service delivery. Provide phone consultation to patients regarding genetic test offerings and results. Support R D and other teams on new or revised product launches. Identify internal educational needs and recommend clinical education support strategies Provide subject matter expertise regarding Quest Diagnostics' testing technologies to the commercial teams and genomic science liaisons. Support Quest-sponsored testing initiatives that involve direct patient contact. Provide guidance with reporting language and supplemental educational reports. Support Quest genomic outreach activities, including partnerships with advocacy groups and the community, and national conferences. Work with both external and internal collaborators on research projects. Support Quest Diagnostics' virtual student rotations. Continuing education for self to keep up subject matter expertise.
Required Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years clinical or laboratory Genetic counseling experience
Physical and Mental Requirements:
the person must be able to sit (or stand) for long periods of time
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of PC operation, including appropriate genetics packages and standards such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.
Skills:

Proven ability to accomplish tasks both independently and as a member of a team. Ability to work effectively with local and national Quest Diagnostics' and Athena Diagnostics' teams. Education Master's Degree Genetic Counseling (Required) Licenses and Certifications Board Eligible/Board Certified as a Genetic Counselor. Once certified, continues professional education sufficient to maintain current requirements for re-certification in the ABGC.
