POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for screening and reviewing select germline genetic test orders. Must be able to assess the patient's clinical history and, when necessary, recommend alternative genetic testing based on the analysis of risk, benefit, and cost to the patient and/or Health System. Responsible for providing clinical consultation services and communicating results to physicians and other allied health professionals.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master of Science in Genetic Counseling with 5 years of experience required, 3 years of which must be laboratory-relevant experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Certified as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC). Texas State licensure will be required as available/appropriate.
