Job Description

Job Overview Early childhood educators care for young children during some of the most important years of life—but too often their own well-being goes unsupported. The Be Well Care Well Coach plays a key role in changing that. This field-based position partners with early childhood education programs across Mississippi and Craighead Counties, Arkansas to strengthen the well-being of the early childhood workforce. Through on-site coaching, training, and community connections, the Coach helps early childhood educators access the supports they need to thrive—both personally and professionally. What You'll Do Partner with programs to support well-being in practice Build strong, ongoing relationships with early childhood education programs through regular on-site visits. Provide coaching, training, and individualized support to help educators and program leaders implement meaningful, achievable well-being goals. Connect educators to meaningful resources Develop and maintain partnerships with local wellness providers, businesses, and community organizations. Serve as a connector—ensuring early childhood educators have access to relevant, practical supports that align with their needs and priorities. Listen, learn, and respond to what educators need Review participant surveys and engage in ongoing feedback conversations to understand local priorities. Use these insights to shape strategies, resources, and supports that are responsive to the realities of the early childhood workforce. Create and share relevant tools and resources Develop and adapt materials that reflect the interests and needs of early childhood educators, with a focus on supporting well-being in accessible, engaging ways. Promote a culture of well-being Champion the importance of educator well-being within the early childhood community. Share resources, facilitate conversations, and elevate the visibility of well-being supports through meetings, outreach, and social media. Coach for sustainable change Work one-on-one and with groups to support educators in identifying personal well-being goals. Use coaching and behavior change strategies to help participants make realistic, lasting progress. Strengthen the broader field Design and deliver trainings and professional development opportunities for early childhood educators and partners, helping to build shared understanding and capacity around well-being. Stay engaged and growing Participate in conferences, trainings, and networking opportunities to bring fresh ideas, tools, and connections back to the programs you support. Support program effectiveness Track, document, and report activities in a timely and organized manner to ensure quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Other duties as assigned Contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Be Well Care Well initiative as needs evolve.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) and 3 years health coaching/promotion experience. Certification in health coaching or related field preferred (e.g., National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Passion for promoting health and wellness and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Efficient and reliable in maintaining accountability records using MS Office Suite and Google Docs. Knowledge of principles, practices, and theories of public health, health promotion, and behavior change Ability to generate ideas and confront barriers with creativity and flexibility. Skilled at building relationships with diverse populations Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently Able to develop and deliver dynamic presentations with sensitivity to learner characteristics is required. Well-organized, self-motivated, have effective and efficient time management and communication skills, and able to perform independently with minimal guidance or supervision Comfortable working in a virtual and in-person environment Quick to grasp new concepts, and able to research information and present it clearly and concisely Able to demonstrate a commitment to following through and have exceptional attention to detail Able to meet deadlines consistently and maintain quality of work Prefer familiarity and experience in early childhood education settings
Pay:
$26.00 - $27.50 per hour
