Pay Rate:
Starting at $19/hour
Schedule:
Approximately 8-10 hours per week (schedule may vary) must have availability after 1:00 pm. Flexibility is a must! Weekend availability required
Job Summary:
The Supportive Living Services (SLS) Coach provides direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting them in achieving greater independence within their homes and communities. The SLS Coach helps individuals develop essential life skills, promote self-advocacy, and ensure their health, safety, and overall well-being. This position requires flexibility, as schedules may vary based on client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized support to clients in their homes and communities based on their needs and goals. Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, household management, and budgeting. Support clients in developing and maintaining relationships, participating in community activities, and accessing transportation. Encourage self-advocacy and independence while ensuring clients' rights and dignity are upheld. Monitor clients' well-being and report any concerns regarding health, safety, or behavioral changes to the appropriate supervisor. Document services provided and progress toward goals in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in client service plans. Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, promoting a positive and encouraging environment. Collaborate with families, case managers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care and goal achievement. Attend required training sessions and meetings to maintain compliance with regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; additional education in human services or a related field is preferred. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing client needs. Must be flexible with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on client requirements. Must be 21 years old to be eligible for company auto insurance policy Must have a valid Drivers License, DMV Print out required. Must pass a background check and meet all agency and state regulatory requirements.
Work Environment:
The SLS Coach will work in various settings, including clients' homes, community locations, and occasionally office settings. This role may require driving clients to appointments, community activities, or other locations as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to assist clients with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring when necessary. Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and perform household tasks. Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations.
