Open to Fill Position Summary The UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) is seeking a passionate, dedicated physician to join the Executive Health practice team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a well-established ambulatory program focused on comprehensive, personalized adult primary care, with an emphasis on prevention, early detection, and health optimization. The role includes delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a high-touch model, including in-depth executive health evaluations and longitudinal care for a defined patient panel. The position also involves participation in shared on-call coverage and collaboration with International and Concierge Services to support coordinated care for executive and international patients. This position is based within DGIM and may include opportunities for teaching, scholarship, and clinical practice improvement within the Clinician Teacher or Clinician Educator track. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.Key Responsibilities Clinical Care:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care within the Executive Health program, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and comprehensive annual health evaluationsCare Coordination:
Collaborate with International and Concierge Services and serve as a liaison to ensure seamless, high-touch care for executive and international patients Medical Education (as applicable): Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows; participate in precepting and educational activities as appropriateQuality Improvement:
Lead or participate in initiatives to enhance patient experience, care delivery, and clinical outcomesProgram Coverage:
Participate in shared on-call coverage for the Executive Health program Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine Valid California medical license and DEA registration by the start date Proven expertise in providing ambulatory internal medicine care, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence Preferred Qualifications Interest or experience in quality improvement, practice innovation, or clinical operations Interest in teaching or academic scholarship About UCSF Health and DGIM Founded in 1980 by Dr. Steve Schroeder, the UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) has grown to include about 80 faculty members, 3 fellows, 72 internal medicine residents (including 30 primary care residents), and 140 staff members. DGIM serves a heterogenous population of over 25,000 patients and consistently receives high marks in patient satisfaction. DGIM is a part of UCSF Health. A national leader, UCSF Health is consistently ranked among the top academic health centers. It is the only medical school in the country ranked in the top five in both primary care and biomedical research by U.S. News & World Report. Primary Care Residency and Research Excellence UCSF's Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency program is nationally recognized for training physicians to care for complex patients across ambulatory and inpatient settings. In addition to clinical excellence, DGIM researchers conduct a broad spectrum of research, from human genetics to population health, all aimed at improving healthcare outcomes. The Executive Health program within the Division of General Internal Medicine provides comprehensive, personalized primary care focused on prevention, early detection, and long-term health optimization. The program offers a high-touch, coordinated care model with extended visit times, in-depth annual evaluations, and seamless access to specialty services.
