$47.30 - $47.30 / hour Summary Cape Coral Hospital is seeking an experienced Lactation Consultant Maternal Educator to join their team. This is a PRN day shift position. This position requires an active IBCLC. The Lactation Consultant (LC) focuses their clinical practice on providing assistance to breast feeding mothers and infants. Responsible for comprehensive maternal, infant and feeding assessments related to lactation and provides education to clients concerning pregnancy, childbirth lactation and parenting. The LC provides a variety of specialized services, including individual consultation, breastfeeding classes and instruction in the use of specific breastfeeding assistive devices. They also serve as a resource for families, staff and providers. The LC is an advocate for breastfeeding while also acknowledging a woman's right to infant feeding choice. Provides care based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. IBCLC and AWHONN standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Uses knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
