Program Educator Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Henry County 127 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, IA 52641 From $23 an hour - Part-time From $23 an hour - Part-time Under the direction of the Extension Council , the Program Educator will work up to 32 hours a week to carry out the land grant mission of Iowa State University Extension & Outreach. This includes the education of youth and or adult programming; advancing the mission of the organization through development of new community partnerships; evaluation and reporting on program areas. This position will emphasize the education of Henry County residents. :
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Knowledge of the purpose and functions of Iowa State University Extension & Outreach, prior experience with Extension & Outreach preferred, but not required
- Ability to work with underserved audiences, experience preferred
- Experience working with the public and community groups
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to teach
- Possession of a valid driver's license and able to travel
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evening and weekend meetings : This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering various programs and outreach efforts in the areas of Ag and Natural Resources, Youth Development, Health and Human Services, and Communities and Economic Development with assistance from our Iowa State Specialists.
The position will also:
1. Support and promote Iowa State University Extension & Outreach (ISU Extension) and Henry County Extension by communicating with, and providing leadership to, targeted community organizations and consortiums. 2. Work to develop new community partnerships that assist in meeting the needs of Henry County youth. 3. Prepare and/or ensure the timely preparation and submission of required reports, working with staff and stakeholders. 4. Provide educational programming targeting underserved audiences by collaborating with county, campus, and regional staff to deliver innovative, impactful content. 5. Identify, recruit, and assist in training community volunteers to help implement and expand program components. 6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Extension Council. 7. This role requires a proactive, community-oriented professional with a passion for youth and adult education, wellness, and partnership-building.
