The Wellness Member Advisor (WMA) supports the emotional wellness, resilience, and personal growth of PODER members through culturally responsive coaching, wellness education, and connection to community resources. As part of PODER's Integration Team, the WMA helps create a welcoming and supportive environment where members feel empowered to overcome barriers and achieve their personal, educational, and workforce goals. The WMA provides 1:1 wellness-focused advising and facilitates group workshops on topics such as stress management, healthy routines, confidence building, emotional well-being, and work-life balance. The role emphasizes prevention, wellness education, and supportive coaching rather than clinical mental health treatment. When appropriate, the WMA connects members to trusted behavioral health and social service partners for additional support. This position is implemented in partnership with Alivio Medical Center through a collaborative wellness initiative designed to expand access to culturally responsive support services for immigrant communities. The Wellness Member Advisor may provide services at both PODER and Alivio locations and will coordinate closely with Alivio staff to support referrals, workshops, and community wellness programming. The Wellness Member Advisor is supervised by PODER's Integration Manager and works collaboratively with the broader Integration Team to ensure members receive holistic, community-centered support aligned with PODER's mission and values.Department Vision:

Through a holistic approach to service delivery, the team helps members navigate challenges, build confidence, and access opportunities that support long-term personal, educational, and professional success. As part of this approach, PODER recognizes that emotional wellness and mental well-being are essential to a member's ability to thrive. The Wellness Member Advisor helps create safe and stigma-free spaces where members can strengthen coping skills, build healthy habits, and access supportive resources that contribute to overall well-being. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Provide wellness-focused 1:1 advising and support to members navigating personal or emotional barriers. Facilitate workshops and group sessions related to: Stress management Healthy habits and routines Emotional wellness and resilience Confidence and self-advocacy Time management and work-life balance Study skills and focus strategies Promote wellness strategies that support member success in educational, workforce, and personal goals. Create a safe, welcoming, and culturally responsive environment for members. Identify members who may benefit from additional behavioral health or social service support and provide referrals to community partners. Coordinate wellness-related workshops and activities in collaboration with PODER staff and community partners, including Alivio Medical Center. Maintain accurate case notes, referrals, and member engagement documentation. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and collaborative planning efforts. Desired Competencies (Updated): Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach Effective communication skills Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality Commitment to immigrant and community-centered services Collaborative and team-oriented mindset Strong organizational and follow-up skills Additional Duties/Skills Required (Updated): Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in community wellness, social services, education, or a related field preferred Bilingual Spanish/English required At least 3 years' experience facilitating workshops, coaching sessions, or community wellness programming preferred Knowledge of community resources and behavioral health referral systems preferred Understanding of holistic and strength-based support approaches Passion for serving immigrant and Latino/a/x communitiesPhysical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Salary commensurate with experience and a generous holiday schedule and flexible accrued PTO for vacation, personal and sick days.
