Job Description

This Is Not a Typical Safety Trainer Role We are seeking charismatic, confident, and highly professional safety instructors who can command a room , engage diverse audiences, and deliver safety training that people actually remember. If you thrive in front of a crowd, have a solid safety background, and take pride in presenting yourself as a polished professional— we should talk. About the Role You will deliver on‑site safety training at customer locations throughout the greater Chicagoland area . The core focus of this role is instruction and engagement , not just checking a compliance box.
Primary instruction includes:
CPR, AED
& First Aid Fire Extinguisher Training Additional classes may include: OSHA 10‑Hour (preferred instructors are
OSHA 501 & 510
certified) Forklift / Powered Industrial Trucks Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) Machine Safeguarding Scissor & Boom Lifts (MEWPs) Emergency Egress & Emergency Planning Workplace Violence & Situational Awareness Train Safety Respiratory Protection Ergonomics And other general safety topics Who This Role Is For ✅ You are comfortable speaking to groups of adults in professional settings ✅ You present yourself with confidence, clarity, and credibility ✅ You understand how to engage a room—not just read slides ✅ You communicate fluently in English (Spanish is a plus, not a replacement) ✅ You are reliable, punctual, and take ownership of your schedule ✅ You are proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft 365 This role is not a fit if: You are uncomfortable speaking to groups You rely on Spanish as your primary teaching language You are unable to commit to professional availability blocks You are looking for remote or virtual work Schedule & Availability Expectations Part‑time, 1099 contractor You set your availability—but when you do, it must be in 4-6 hour (or longer) blocks Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM (training window) All training is on‑site (no virtual classes) Typical travel time is ~1 hour , depending on customer location Reliable transportation is required Compensation $40.00
  • $70.00 per hour , based on credentials, experience, and instructional skill Instructors typically earn $750
  • $2,500 per month , depending on availability All materials, training resources, and job‑specific equipment are provided This is a 1099 position , however we regularly hire from our contractor pool .
High‑performing instructors may be considered for part‑time employee roles in the future.
Required & Preferred Qualifications Required:
Fluent English speaker Strong public speaking and presentation skills Professional demeanor and appearance
CPR / AED
/ First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) Comfort using PowerPoint and instructor‑led materials Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
Strongly Preferred:
OSHA 501 and/or
OSHA 510
